FIFA 10 is the latest instalment of Electronic Arts' FIFA series of football video games. Developed by EA Canada, it is published by Electronic Arts worldwide under the EA Sports label. The game will be released on 1 October 2009 in Australia, 2 October 2009 in Europe, and 20 October 2009 in North America. It will be available for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and Wii. Versions of the game will also be released for the iPhone and iPod Touch, Nintendo DS, Nokia N-Gage, PlayStation Portable, and mobile phones.
Electronic Arts announced that the demo of FIFA 10 will appear on Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and PC on 10 September in Europe, and on 11 September in Australia and on 17 September in North America. The playable teams will be Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Marseille and Chicago Fire. As well as playing an exhibition match, the demo will allow users to upload created in-game videos and screenshots to EA Football World. The tagline for the game is "How big can football get?".
FIFA 10 is the second version of the game to sponsor a football club. FIFA 10 is co-sponsor, with FourFourTwo, of English Football League One club Swindon Town. The FIFA 10 logo appears on the front of the team's away shirt and on the back of the home shirt. FIFA 07 sponsored Accrington Stanley for the 200708 season, with the FIFA 07 logo displayed on the back of the team's shirts. Unlike previous versions of FIFA, the Netherlands will be included as a fully licensed national team.
